OUR MISSION:
We catalyze the emergence of a regional, self-reliant economy that strengthens all Bay Area communities.
To realize this vision, here's what we're working on:
Bay Area 2020 trains and empowers grassroots leaders to make our communities more resilient. The Community Resilience Toolkit guides groups in evaluating their communities and planning action steps. Effective networks share resources and build regional power for change.
Local Clean Energy promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency, green jobs, and strong climate action through the Local Clean Energy Alliance. Pilot programs such as Green Faith in Action harness the power of faith communities to organize for clean energy as a vehicle for positive community change.
Use Your Roof demonstrates how dense urban areas can produce food, water, and energy right on urban rooftops. Download our Use Your Roof Guidebook, or get your hands dirty at a hands-on workshop at one of our affiliated demonstration garden sites.
