For April's workparty we'll be planting zucchini and squash in the freshly-cleared lot in the corridor and maintaining/pruning the sidewalk planter beds. The workshop theme is permaculture, presented by Booka Alon and Karla Nagy**, former teachers at the Veterans Administration Hospital's Kitchen GardenSF Program.
**Join Karla Nagy and Booka Alon, of Kitchen GardenSF, as they introduce Permaculture at our upcoming workshop. permaculture is a design system based on natural ecology and pragmatic intergration of available resources. The workshop will dive into Kitchen Garden Design using the 12 basic permaculture principles. We will cover the climate of the Bay Area, essential nutrients for plants to survive and appropriate plant selection.
